A thrilling event took a turn for the worse on the final day of the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland. The joyous atmosphere at the convention came crashing down as a sports card dealer fell victim to a costly theft, losing approximately $275,000 in cash on Sunday, July 28.

The unfortunate incident unfolded at the I-X Center, where a 48-year-old dealer from New Jersey was wrapping up his activities and loading his SUV post-event. The significant sum of money, along with two iPads, had been securely kept in a black briefcase within the vehicle. Despite believing he had locked his SUV, the dealer returned to find the briefcase missing.

Upon investigation, Cleveland Police First District detectives revealed that the stolen briefcase, equipped with an air tag, was discovered on the I-X Center premises. However, the substantial amount of cash initially stored inside was conspicuously absent.

Authorities are currently on the lookout for two suspects spotted leaving the area in a distinctive blue Honda Odyssey van, their identities and whereabouts still unknown. The investigation is ongoing, with police appealing to the public for any leads or information that could assist in solving the case.
